Things to do in Daytona Beach

As you probably already know, “The Worlds Most Famous Beach”, has many different things to do. From art exhibits and live entertainment to sports events and festivals and everything in between. For the more active crowd, Daytona Beach offers great fishing, surfing, kite boarding and many other types of activities for those who like to play outdoors.

Things to do in Daytona BeachThe beach here is known for its hard-packed sand where driving is permitted in designated areas. Driving down the beach has been a long-time favorite for many visitors. This is where NASCAR became more mainstream and organized when Bill France and others formed the organization in 1947.

Electric Bikes – A relatively new activity and gaining in popularity is riding an electric bike or eBike on the beach. An eBike is different from a moped or scooter. It has an integrated electric motor, which is typically used to assist or boost pedaling power. The motor is powered by a battery. Mopeds and scooters don’t rely on pedaling, are traditionally powered by a gas-powered engine (with relatively horrible emissions) and require licenses.

Riders can choose a level of “assist” basically from eco to turbo, but the bottom line is that it makes cycling way faster at the easiest of efforts. A moderate effort on an eBike can produce speeds of 20 to 25 miles per hour, which is about the pace that solo bike jocks on the road go on super lightweight bikes and skin tight biking clothes.

“The beaches in Daytona couldn’t be any more perfect to ride an electric bike on”, says Dan Gardner, Co-Owner of Daytona Adventures an Electric Bike Sales and Rental Company located on 204 Seabreeze Boulevard in Daytona Beach.

Daytona Adventures offers a large selection of eBikes to rent such as fat tire ebikes to easy to ride open frame or no-step frames.
